BusinessUpdate –<\/strong> Wakil Presiden Ma’ruf Amin meminta Kementerian Pertanian untuk menggenjot produksi beras di dalam negeri agar angkanya terus meningkat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ma’ruf menekankan, produksi beras tidak hanya fokus untuk mencapai surplus stok, tetapi meningkatkan kuantitas beras yang diproduksi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Saya minta fokus kita agar jangan hanya pada surplusnya saja, tapi juga pada besaran angkanya. Harapannya jumlah surplus terus meningkat dari tahun ke tahun, artinya produksi beras juga meningkat dari tahun ke tahun,” kata Ma’ruf dalam Rapat Kerja Nasional Pembangunan Pertanian, Rabu (25\/1\/2023). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Menurutnya, berdasarkan data Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), produksi beras selalu surplus setiap tahun. Namun, jumlah surplus beras itu cenderung turun dari tahun ke tahun, dari 4,37 juta ton pada 2018 menjadi 1,74 juta ton pada 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wapres mengingatkan, sektor pertanian adalah sektor yang kritikal karena harus mampu menyediakan pangan bagi lebih dari 275 juta jiwa di Indonesia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Ketersediaan pangan dan stabilitas harga pangan menjadi persoalan kritikal yang harus senantiasa dikelola dengan baik, seiring dengan meningkatnya tren pertumbuhan penduduk,” lanjut Ma’ruf. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apalagi, dunia saat ini dibayang-bayangi oleh potensi krisis pangan akibat perubahan iklim serta geopolitik yang penuh ketidakpastian. Ia meminta Kementerian Pertanian untuk mengidentifikasi komoditas pangan yang tepat dalam menghadapi krisis pangan dunia, serta fokus mendorong pengembangannya, termasuk penetapan target produksi dan lokasinya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sebelumnya, Menteri Pertanian Syahrul Yasin Limpo melaporkan kepada Ma’ruf bahwa stok beras di dalam negeri masih cukup.
